About David Martosko
A graduate of Dartmouth College (BA) and the Johns Hopkins University’s Peabody Conservatory of Music (MA), David Martosko has embraced a completely different form of communications in his professional life. Since July 2011 he has led the editorial staff at The Daily Caller, Ameica’s fastest-growing online news portal.
David edited a war reporting package in 2011 that won The Daily Caller a prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award for journalism and the Fourth Estate Award from the American Legion.
His early classical music career took gave way to time in graphic design and radio production during the 1990s, and he began 2001 as a public affairs and PR communicator. David was a broadcast producer for ABC Radio in Washington, DC, serving as a technical and content coordinator for some of WMAL-AM 630’s primary talk radio programs.
As Director of Research and a Senior Strategist at Berman and Company, David became highly influential in the national debates over food politics, seafood safety, animal welfare and labor politics. He led teams whose work won a half-dozen national awards, including three in 2011.
David is an active supporter of charitable and philanthropic causes, including Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the American Red Cross, the Washington Master Chorale, the Capital Area Humane Society, and the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria. He is the husband of an opera singer and the father of two school-age daughters.
